This page contains a list of corrections and extensions in MindPlan V2 build versions. 

2.1 build 14 compared to 2.1 build 13

Only the application was updated, no databases were changed.

2.1 build 13 renewed on 2006/12/07

Correction of error in update agent "1. MindPlan update 2.0->2.1\1st step: Prepare access rights":
"INITIALIZE:Object variable not set in line 66" was raised on agent execution.

2.1 build 13 compared to 2.01 build 2

The essential changes of the major release 2.1 compared to version 2.0 are described in the 2.1 release notes. Please do also read the update notes carefully, to update the data of an existing MindPlan version to the new format.

2.01 build 2 compared to 2.00 build 7

English version
  • MindPlan is now available in English and German language.
  • MindPlan setup allows for user-defined switching of the language for the application and the database design.
  • for every language, separate MindPlan databases and online help databases with German/English content are delivered.
  • a separate license key is required for the English language version

MindPlan variants and licensing
  • MindPlan variants MindPlan Standard and MindPlan User are available now (so far only Professional)
  • in case no license key is available, MindPlan operates as MindPlan View, i.e. in read-only mode
  • test license keys for 21 days can be requested after starting the application

Network version officially released
  • There is now a MindPlan variant available in the download area which can be run without an installation and is suitable for using it from a shared network drive or from a CD.

Optical characteristics of maps [Screenshot]
  • nodes can be positioned freely 
  • lines connecting nodes can now have transparency, by which free floating nodes can be simulated.
  • arrows can now be displayed to illustrate the dependencies between activities (which can be activated/deactivated in File/Preferences/Layout/Map Details)

Gantt view
  • Links can now be created direclty using the mouse in the Gantt view.

Performance optimisation
  • primary layout in the map slightly accelerated
  • map zooming with a zoom factor less than 100% significantly accelerated (no more lag when pressing alt and turing the mouse wheel)
  • By default a maximum of three node levels are displayed after loading a map, with the following levels collapsed. This can be adjusted in File/Preferences.
  • Especially for the CD version: button for setting MindPlan file links integrated into the MindPlan setup (.mpxml, .mpkey, MindPlan://)

Miscellaneous
  • date and time format for input and output can be configured
  • default database can be stored on the server using Notes.ini parameters
  • file name of Notes.ini can be adjusted in the MindPlan setup

Bugfixes
  • Bugfix in MindPlan setup: With Notes registry entries completely missing, no user-defined notes path can be entered
  • algorithm for accumulated progress grade changed: instead of using the average progress of child nodes, the accumulated progress is now calculated on the basis of time


2.00 build 7 compared to build 4

Performance optimisation
  • performance on big maps significantly increased (>500 nodes, tested with up to 4000 completely expanded nodes)
  • opening the 'Create MindPlan' dialogue and the node properties dialogue accelerated
  • update of project phase data will be delayed (operations on big maps will not freeze the application any more) 
  • expanding/collapsing (++/--) of nodes in map and Gantt view significantly accelerated
  • function 'Select all' in the map accelerated
  • closing MindPlans accelerated
  • jittering of Gantt table while expanding fixed
  • memory usage for Maps slightly reduced
  • map and Gantt do not expand/collapse nodes synchronously 
    • the Gantt now independently saves which lines are expanded 
    • the decoupling significally accelerates the expanding and collapsing of nodes, because less operations have to be  performed

New application features

Presentation mode
  • implemented for map, Gantt an resources view
  • hides window frames / toolbars and displays a new toolbar on the lower margin
  • the toolbar contains actions for traversing the MindPlan as well as a 'menues' button for accessing further menues. 
  • full editing functionality also in the presentation mode

Switching between map and Gantt view
  • Ctrl-< now switches between map and Gantt
  • the current node remains selected in the new view and is placed in the visible area
  • in the Gantt view, the timeline is positioned so that the bar is in the visible area
  • this makes a seamless transition from the structured overview (map) to the detailed planning (Gantt) possible

Symbols for quickly creating new nodes with the mouse
  • at the selected nodes, mouseover symbols are now displayed; by clicking them, a new node is created.
  • depending on the symbol, the new node is inserted above, below or appended as a child node
  • right-clicking the symbol displays the 'Create' menu and enables you to quickly create a node of a certain type

Miscellaneous
  • cut and paste function for nodes integrated
  • function for upgrading and downgrading nodes in the map integrated (alt-cursor left/right) 
  • option 'Move node' added to 'Export/Export nodes to other MidnPlan'
  • option 'Copy archived node versions' added to 'Save MindPlan as..'

Bugfixes
  • Enter on link nodes did not work
  • creating links using the 'Create' menu did not work
  • directory selection in the license manager for MPKey files did not show any directories
  • editing node captions in MindPlan View was still possible
  • node selection can be reversed with ctrl-click
  • DnD problem removed:
    in a project, a phase could not be moved if there were locked activities within 
  • nodes are only expanded on mouseover if the pointer is on +/-.
  • MPXML export was missing in the CD/network version.

Application
  • directly after the installation, the application does not open in the tray, but in a visible window
  • nodes maintain their original order with copy and paste (instead of the order of selection)
  • error checking integrated concerning the existence of Lotus Notes classes: In case there are classes missing, an error message is displayed and the MindPlan setup is initialized
  • bugfix in XML import: some exported MPXML maps could not be reimported
  • export of RTF to the clipboard corrected (the RTF code was pasted as text)
  • export of costs, elapsed time and remaining time added
  • 'Create new MindPlan' as default selection in the MPXML import dialogue
Installation database
  • refreshing of views while installing databases and after design update integrated (MindPlan starts faster after an update)
  • uninstallation of an existing MindPlan application is now obligatory: you will be asked to uninstall twiche, otherwise the installation will be aborted 
  • bugfix when changing the installation path - sometimes a path was not accepted, although it was in the data directory

2.00 build 4 compared to build 3
Application
  • backwards compatibility to V1 XML agent restored, in order to import a multiple selection of documents from Notes views into MindPlan
  • maintenance of precursors in the properties dialogue was not possible
  • MPXML export: attachments were not stored in the correct subdirectories in the MPDXML archive

MindPlan databases
  • design elements which caused errors in the locked database design (tabs in the configuration etc.) were replaced
