EWAB Engineering is an internationally-active corporation in the field of automation for the automotive industry and its supply industry with plants in eight countries of Europe and the USA. At the Moment eight Domino 6.5 database servers with partially proprietary database developments, a Sametime server for chat and video conferencing and a content solution based on Lotus Notes are operated.
Staff management
In addition to knowledge management (described here), EWAB Engineering uses Weilgut MindPlan for the management of its staff. Every customer project is listed within a MindPlan. Employees are selected from a pool and assigned to the projects for a certain time.
The staff planning is conducted by three production schedulers with a pool of employees of their own. By means of stored analyses, all schedulers are able to view the summary of all resources at any time, also those of their colleagues. Thus, employees will be optimally assigned
Integration into the appointment calendar
Another important facility for EWAB Engineering is the creation of activities (dates and tasks) in Weilgut MindPlan, for example during the design of a project, and the instant synchronisation with the personal appointment calendar database. By this means the activities instantly appear in the personal calendar or agenda of the respective associate.
